Role models can make a big impact on the lives of athletes, especially the younger ones. Whether it is just by watching them play or actually interacting with them, the impression that is made can make a big difference in the life of that student-athlete.

Cameron Molder has a couple of people in his life that he looks up to. “There are two people that have been role models for me in regards to soccer,” he said. “Vladan Glavonic was my private trainer for five years and Stevan Djukic is my club soccer coach. They both taught me everything I know about soccer and how to play possession soccer. They have both played a big role in me being the athlete I am today.”

Molder is a sophomore at Bartlesville High School. He plays goalkeeper for the Bruins’ soccer team. He has been playing soccer since he was in the first grade and says that he likes it because of the strategy involved.

“I enjoy the game because it’s almost like an interactive puzzle,” he said. “There are lots of moving pieces and it’s fun to organize them from the back.”
Becoming the soccer player he is today has taken a lot of work and effort from Molder. “It has taken hard work and belief in myself and my coaches,” he stated. “Also, it took time with my teammates to build trust, they make my job a lot easier.”

He has made many great memories through his soccer career, but Cameron says that there are a couple of moments that he likes the most. “In 2018, my club team won the State Cup,” he recalled. “And this past season, we won three penalty kick shootouts. All of these are really awesome memories.”

Competing in sports is something that Cameon enjoys, but he says he also enjoys cheering on his fellow Bruins in the stands. “I enjoy being in the student section at football games,” he said. “The Bru Crew is a great group that I am proud to be part of.”
