Foyil’s Madi Kelley - Athlete Spotlight Presented By Northeast Tech

The Northeast Tech Athlete of the Month is Madi Kelley, a junior at Foyil High School. Kelley plays basketball and also runs track and cross country for the Panthers. During the basketball season she took on more of a leadership role for Foyil.
“My role on the team this year was really just being a leader and trying to pick everyone up because we had a tough season,” said Kelley.
In track Kelley competes in the mile and two mile. As a freshman she qualified for state in the mile. In cross country she went to regionals as an individual and barely missed qualifying for state.
Kelley is currently taking the Health Careers program at the NE Tech Claremore Campus and has nothing but good things to say about the class.
“I’ve already gotten my CNA,,” said Kelley, “it’s been a really fun program and now we are working on anatomy, I highly recommend it and I’ve made a lot of new friends as well. I chose the program because I want to be a neonatal nurse when I get older and everyone that has done it told me it’s an easier path and helps push you in the right direction.”
Kelley is also a standout in the classroom boasting a 3.8 GPA. She is currently involved in Student Council and FCCLA. After high school she plans on working as a CNA and attending college to pursue a career as a neonatal nurse.
