GIRLS

Coach: Brooke Jackson

2019-20 Record: 14-11

The success of last season is fueling the Lady Tigers this year as coach Brooke Jackson looks to take the next big step with the program. “We have four seniors that are great leaders with a handful of underclassmen that have always been eager,” said Jackson. Marisa Scott (5-4, Sr.) starts at the point and is returning from an injury suffered last season. She may be the team’s best three-point shooter. Ashley Myers (5-9, Sr.) fought through some injuries of her own to average 6.0 points and 5.0 rebounds a game. If Myers can spend an entire season on the floor, she may become the team’s go-to player. Giselle Gutierrez (5-5, Jr.) was the defensive player of the year for the Lady Tigers. If she finds more confidence in her offense, she will be a nightmare for opponents. Baylee King (5-3, So.) was thrown into the fire last season but responded by averaging 5.0 points and 2.0 rebounds a game. Katy Crawford (5-11, So.) continually got better through her freshman season, the forward has high expectations for this season. Jaycie Rhinehart (5-10, Sr.) should get quality minutes on the floor this season where her defense and rebounding will come into play. SOMETHING TO WATCH – Myers is a multi-dimensional player. She can shoot the three, drive to the basket and post up and score. Look for her to create problems for opponents all season long.
