Fairland Owls - 2020 Basketball Preview Feature - Presented by Grands Savings Bank
Coach: Aaron Bland
2019-20 Record: 6-12
With several players returning for head coach Aaron Bland, the Owls of Fairland are looking like a team that will be a tough out for any opponent. “We will have a nucleus of seven players returning with varsity experience from last years 6-12 team,” said Bland. “Our team will be led by four seniors with a host of underclassmen vying for playing time.” Andrew Barker (6-3, Sr.) is a rangy guard who can dish or play solid defense. He averaged 6.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists last year. Trey Martin (6-3, Sr.) has the ability to get to the rim and the athleticism to finish the job. Martin averaged 9.6 points and 5.0 rebounds. Brion Padberg (6-5, Sr.) starts at center where he averaged 12.8 points and 10 rebounds a year ago. Padberg can dominate the paint. Lane Tudor (6-4, Sr.) came off the bench last season to average 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds. Jayden Anderson (6-2, Jr.) is another guy with good experience at guard, while Jacoby Jackson (6-2, Jr.) is fearless on both ends of the floor. Jackson has worked hard in the weight room and is ready for more minutes. Also look for Josia Bird (5-6, So.) at guard. Bird is looking to make a big leap this season in his high school career. Casen Rentfrow is an underclassman to watch this season. SOMETHING TO WATCH – Padberg is a double-double guy that sets the tone for Fairland. It’s a long night for opponents when they can’t slow down Padberg.
