GIRLS

Coach: Justin Goins

2019-20 Record: 23-7

Experience coupled with the ability to score gives the girls from Fairland a shot at defeating any opponent. “We are an experienced team that made a run to the area conference finals last year. We will be very experienced even though we will only have two seniors. We hope to continue getting better and build on last years success,” said Goins. Grace Goins (5-11, Jr.) returns as the teams leading scorer. Goins averaged 14.2 points and 9.4 rebounds as a sophomore. Erica Schertz (5-11, So.) is another shot taker with big scoring ability. Schertz averaged 10.1 points and 11.2 rebounds. Scout Mayfield (5-5, Jr.) starts at guard where she averaged 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds. Alexis McGranahan (5-10, Sr.) will play forward where her ability to grab rebounds can make all the difference in a game. McGranahan averaged 7.1 rebounds while scoring 6.7 points. Other players to watch include Makynzi Jones (5-6, Jr.), Kinley Powell (5-5, So.) and Kaylee Wilson (5-9, Sr.) at forward. SOMETHING TO WATCH – Look for Fairland to be efficient with the ball on offense and create havoc on defense. They want to put the pressure on opponents and force mistakes.
