Coach: Bobby Shinn

19-20 Record: 9-13

With three returning starters to the court for head coach Bobby Shinn, the Lady Eagles have a solid nucleus to build their young, but athletic team around. Two other players will return to the court who have experience thanks to seeing playing time last year. Layne Hudson (5-6, Sr.) is a four-year starter and a combo guard for Afton. She can play the point or shooting guard. Maddie Griswold is one of the underclassmen to watch this season. Coach Shinn said Griswold is a natural shooter who plays the game with passion. Kat Osterberger has all the qualities a coach wants in a player according to coach Shinn. She brings qualities like work ethic, morals, and a competitive streak to the court. Overall the team does have the potential to develop into one of the tough outs this season. Hudson will play a big role in ensuring the team is ready to challenge come last January. Something to Watch – Hudson brings natural leadership qualities to the court and is a role model away from the game. Her work ethic, and competitive nature are two reasons she is one of the top players in the area. Moving to her natural spot at shooting guard will help her game after running the point for a couple of seasons.
