Head Coach: Deric Longan

19-20 Record: 15-11

Head coach Deric Longan looks to build off the success of last season as younger players gain more experience and depth is no longer an issue, success should follow. “The girls have a great work ethic and are eager to learn,” said Longan. “I love how they help one another and work together to challenge each other daily.” A pair of seniors at guard will certainly help solidify the backcourt. Joanna Guevara (5-6, Sr.) and Gentry Webb (5-6, Sr.) bring experience and hustle to the court for the Lady Trojans. Jill Emery (5-10, Jr.) and Sammi Gilbreath (5-10, So.) are two post players coach Longan is excited to see play this season. Both are capable of having big nights. Emery is one of the hardest working players on the team and is a match-up problem for most opponents. Jade Upton (5-8, So.) is a young and exciting guard to watch and a tenacious defender. Also look for Jaci Sumner (5-4, So.) at guard as coach Longan looks to keep his backcourt fresh. Something to Watch – Even though she’s a sophomore, Sammi Gilbreath can play inside or out and does a lot of the dirty work that does not show up in the stat book. Look for her to continue becoming one of the go-to players on the team.
