First year head coach Graham Snelding wants his Nowata football program to run a more balanced attack on offense. With five returning starters on the offensive side of the ball, finding that balance should be within their grasp. Trenton Smith (5-7, 150, Sr.) leads a deep wide receiver corps for the Ironmen. Smith is quick and agile in traffic. Emmett Sells (6-0, 160, Jr.), Eli Savala (5-7, 145, So.) and Jayden Bowman (5-10, 160, Sr.) round out a talented group of receivers, coach Snelding will utilize in the passing attack. Running back Brayden Humphries (5-7, 145, Jr.) is a nice change of pace and a back that can turn up the heat in the open field. The offensive line features Kyle Sely (6-2, 230, Jr.) who returns up front giving the Ironmen some experience on the line. Look for Broden Monroe to be the likely starter at quarterback as the Ironmen fill positions vacated by graduating seniors.

“We want an attacking defense with athletes that run to the ball,” said coach Snelding. The 5-3 scheme will feature Wyatt Kuehler (5-10, 185, Jr.) and Garrett Kuehler (5-8, 160, Sr.) at linebacker. Both guys run well to the ball and play a physical style the Ironmen faithful love to see. Daygun West (6-1, 165, Jr.) is another linebacker with quick feet and the ability to help in pass coverage. The defensive line features two stalwarts in Jake Lanzison (5-7, 185, Sr.) and Kyle Sely who will start at noseguard. Also watch free safety Trenton Smith. Smith will pull double duty like several of his teammates as the Ironmen work to find depth at various positions. Other players to watch include Benton Blasi (So.) and Brayden Hewitt (Jr.).
