Offensively head coach Steven Trammell will base the attack out of the 20 personnel utilizing the spread run game with an RPO design. Mason Siegel (6-0, 190, Sr.) starts at quarterback where he threw for 1,144 yards on 60 completions with 14 touchdowns. Siegel also added 613 yards on the ground averaging 6.4 yards per carry, scoring 11 touchdowns. Running back Mason Pittman (5-11, 165, Sr.) rushed for 557 yards on 74 attempts averaging 7.5 yards per carry. The quick back also scored seven touchdowns. Wide receiver Baylor Nash (6-2, 165, Jr.) was a big part of the offense last season catching 25 balls for 492 yards and eight touchdowns. Slot receiver Henry Auer (5-9, 145, Sr.) accounted for more than 270 total yards and three scores. A versatile player, Auer can be utilized in multiple ways. Also look for running back Trinton Keuhn (5-10, 200, Jr.) to play a major role this season. Last year Keuhn rushed for 404 yards on 62 carries averaging 6.5 per carry. Cody Benson (6-1,
285, Sr.) is an extremely intelligent guard who stays engaged throughout the play. He paves the way for the run game. Coach Trammell said Benson is, “a couple of inches short from Division I recruiting.” The “Tombstone Maker” could see interest in his future in football pick up this year.

The Cougars will run the 3-3 with six men in the box giving their ends and linebackers the opportunity to make plays at the point of attack. Defensive end Clay Gilmore (6-2, 185, Jr.) had a team high 14 sacks last season thanks to his speed off the edge and ability to get to the quarterback. Keuhn had eight sacks last year making the pair of ends two of the toughest guys to block in the class. Pittman will also play linebacker with Lane Biggs (6-1, 200, Sr.) at outside linebacker. Auer will start at one of the corner spots with Siegel starting at safety. Auer is one of the captains on the team this year and is a multi- sport athlete.
