The Wildcats are looking forward to the start of a new season. Head coach Chris Cawyer returns a solid core of players looking to take Wildcat football to another level. “We competed in 90 percent of our games this year. Had great senior leadership throughout the summer and fall practices and games,” said coach Cawyer. A pair of quarterbacks will compete for time this season. Koen Myrick (5-11, 175, Jr.) and Seth Johnston (5-11, 145, So.) are bot capable of leading the Wildcats this season. Kale Thomasson (5-9, 165, Sr.) and Ethan Mate (5-8, 150, Sr.) bring experience to the wide receiver position. Several players could see time at running back including Taylor Roher (5-8, 175, Sr.) and Anthony Moreno (6-1, 200, Sr.). Moreno is physical enough to play noseguard on defense. Peyton Shapp (6-0, 155, So.) and Deacon Shapp (5-10, 155, So.) add depth at wide receiver with Xavier Roberts (6-2, 180, So.) at tight end. Other players to watch include c (6-2, 230, Sr.), Grant Crawford (5-9, 275, Jr.), Tyler Bacon (5-8, 135, Fr.), Kolton Harris (5-10, 230, Fr.) and Kolton Neal (5- 5, 125, Fr.).

Several players will pull double duty for the Wildcats as coach Cawyer looks to put the best players in position to be successful. Jacob Gregory (6-2, 170, Sr.) is a big defensive back the Wildcats are eager to see this season. Several other players like Jonathon Green (6-0, 215, Sr.), Preston Thomasson (5-11, 165, Jr.) and Corben Cunliffe (5-11, 160, So.) are expected to step in at linebacker. Other players to watch this season include Matt Lovell (6-3, 245, Sr.) at end, Zayne Suman (5 11, 170, Jr.) at end and center on offense, Brannigan Ray (6-3, 295, Jr.) on the line, Garrett Williams (5-11, 165, Jr.) at end, Racen Smith (5-10, 165, Jr.) at tackle, Gunner Freeman (6-0, 200, Jr.) and Blayden Hart (5-10, 230, So.). Be on the lookout for these underclassmen as Yona Blackfox (5-9, 185, Fr.) and Tyler Olsen (5-7, 135, Fr.) one the defensive line and free safety respectively. “We need to learn to finish games,” said coach Cawyer. “Our goal this year is to make the playoffs so that everyone has to be committed to the program. Summer especially with passing leagues and team camps.”
