Northeast Tech Oct 1125

Claremore Sequoyah High School senior Halee Wallin is known for her play on the basketball court and softball fields for the Lady Eagles. What some of her classmates may not know is that Wallin is taking courses at Northeast Technology Center in the Health Careers program. The senior is working her way to her ultimate goal of working in the health career field and Northeast Tech is where it all starts.

“My plans after high school would be to go play softball at the college level while pursuing my dream in becoming a pediatrician,” said Wallin. “Northeast Tech was the right choice for me because it allowed me to be able to get my foot in the door in the medical field.”

On the basketball court and the softball field, Wallin works hard to be the best player she can be for her team and teammates. Wallin applies that same tenacity to being the best student she can be. Northeast Tech is giving her the best education a high school student can get while learning a particular career field.

“The thing I enjoy the most about Northeast Tech is that it doesn’t feel like a boring school. You have great classmates and you’re having fun while you learn,” said Wallin.

The advantage Wallin and her classmates have at Northeast Tech is direction. Knowing what type of career field interests you allows Northeast Tech and the instructors to help you learn the basics in the career field and work toward your goal of getting into another college or starting your career immediately after high school. Wallin said she would recommend Northeast Tech to anyone in high school who knows where they want to work once they graduate.

“I would tell them to go for it. Northeast Tech is an amazing opportunity for anyone to make sure or find out what career they would like to go into. Not only does it feel fun and a great experience, but Northeast Tech will also help you get a job afterwards, so you have somewhere to go,” said Wallin.
