Colcord’s Brittani Clapp - Spotlight Presented By Pirates Git-N-Split
Colcord High School sophomore Brittani Clapp is a member of the varsity fastpitch softball team where she plays third base and shortstop. As an underclassman, Clapp is one of the younger players on the squad, but she makes up for it with her play on the field. Returning to the field with this team could not come soon enough for Clapp.
“I was very excited for school to start back up, but I was even more excited for ball to start back too, said Clapp.
As a teammate, Clapp enjoys spending time with her teammates and getting to know everyone.
“We are all pretty close and work really well together,” said Clapp.
That closeness is helping the team develop some good chemistry heading into the 2020 season. Colcord students and the community loves to support their student-athletes, which only serves to help the team as they look to make this season memorable for something more than just a pandemic.
Clapp also plays on the varsity basketball team making her a two-sport athlete. She said her parents have played a huge role in helping her get to where she is today.
“My parents have been the biggest influence in my life,” said Clapp. “They have always been there for me on and off the field.”
Even though she is only a sophomore, Clapp has begun to look ahead at her future and what that may hold.
Clapp wants to attend college and pursue her degree. She is undecided on what she would like to study and if she will attempt to play sports.
