Rhett Minson 250

Junior and multi-sport athlete for Pryor High School, Rhett Looney, plays guard for the Lady Tigers basketball team, but she doesn’t stop there. She is also involved in softball, runs track, and is an active member in the Student Lead Team, and the Community Service Club as well. While Rhett enjoys all the different aspects of basketball, her favorite part of the sport is getting to play defense.

Rhett can’t remember a time that she wasn’t active in a sport. “I’ve been around the sport and in gyms my whole life,” said Rhett.

Playing such a competitive sport can be overwhelming for some, but not for Rhett. She lets the competitive nature of the sport drives her to be better, work harder, and never give up.

This school year Rhett is enjoying getting to see her friends everyday and making memories to last her a lifetime. When you don’t see Rhett making baskets on the court you will catch her spending time with her family, as she is the youngest of her siblings at sixteen.

Knowing she is a role model for younger players, Rhett is aware of what it takes to set a good example.

“If feels great knowing that other people look up to you and it pushes you to try to do better and be better,” she said.
