Pryor High School senior and Character Counts recipient Brooke Miller feels honored to be recognized for the award.

Having good character can mean a lot of different things, but to Brooke the most important thing is to always be true.

“Good character means doing the right thing even when no one else is watching,” said Brooke.

Brooke is a busy student, athlete, and all-around teenager. She plays softball, basketball, runs track as well as being an active member in the National Honor Society along with helping lead her church in worship on Sunday mornings. When you have as busy of a life as Brook, it can be easy to fall behind and become disorganized. That’s why Brooke is continuously striving to put the important things first on her to-do list.

“I have to make time to do the important things and not procrastinate, which I tend to do a lot,” laughed Brooke.

Staying organized and on top of her game is not the only thing that is important when you have a busy schedule but trying to stay motivated can also be a struggle for some.

“I stay motivated by looking at the positive things in everything because even when it’s hard you will learn from it and come out stronger” said Brooke.

Knowing that younger athletes and her peers look up to her helps to hold her accountable.

“You can either have a good or bad influence on people. I try and strive to have a good one,” Brooke said.

In her free time Brooke enjoys playing the guitar and taking photographs of her friends.

After high school Brooke has plans to pursue her love of photography as well as serve the Lord in ministry.
